Mentor Our Students

While JobTrain students are preparing for very specific careers, there is always a benefit to having someone with professional experience, regardless of the field, to give tips on things like interviewing, career advancement, work-life balance — and even just to cheer you on as you transition into a new profession. JobTrain is always looking for professional mentors to be there to answer questions for our students, offer them support, and be open to engaging with and learning from individuals with diverse perspectives.

Volunteer at JobTrain

Assist with administrative support & client services or help graduates find a job.

Assist with Events

Lend a hand at JobTrain events such as Breakfast of Champions and other events by helping with set up, registration, logistics.

Work in Our Garden

In order to supply our culinary program with the freshest ingredients, JobTrain has its very own onsite garden. Once per week, a few culinary students will set aside time to water, prune, and tend to the fruits and vegetables growing in the planters. If you’re not afraid of a little dirt, volunteering in the garden alongside our culinary students is a fun way to support our programs and get a breath of fresh air. Green thumb not required!

Graduation Notes and Gifts

Graduation is a huge milestone, and we want JobTrain students to feel like they have the community behind them as they leave our programs and start their new careers. Help us celebrate our students on their graduation day by writing congratulatory cards and donating small, token gifts as a sign of your support!

Join the Alumni Association

JobTrain students and graduates make up the JobTrain family. Both during time in class and decades after graduating, the connection between JobTrain Alumni is one of JobTrain’s biggest assets. Formally join the Alumni Association and be a leader amongst your peers of alums to help spread the word about JobTrain, as well as gain valuable connections and tools.

Attend our Networking Events

We host activities for professionals in the community and JobTrain students to get to know each other, network, and learn from others’ unique experiences. Attending these events is a great way to meet a diverse group of talented, driven individuals who will soon be looking to contribute their new skills at businesses around the Bay Area.
