Program Overview: This advanced course for careers in the technology field will prepare graduates for entry to mid-level Systems Admin/IT Support, Data Management, and Automation jobs. IT Automation with Python is a dynamic, fast-growing field, in 2023 alone, Python’s user base grew by over 10%, solidifying its place as the most popular programming language worldwide. This program is designed to equip students with skills required to excel in the field of Python automation. Companies are increasingly using this language to build data analytics software to transform customer-brand interactions. Given the growing importance of data science, there is a clear growth in Python’s user base beyond the confines of traditional programmers.

What you get from this program
Students will be directed through the Google IT Automation with Python Professional Certification course, which was developed by Google and designed to provide IT professionals with in-demand skills — including Python, Git, and IT automation — that can help you advance your career. This course includes an innovative curriculum designed to prepare you for an entry-level role in IT support as well as a starting point for additional technical skills training. Through a mix of video lectures, quizzes, and hand-on labs and widgets, this program builds on your IT foundations to help you take your career to the next level. It’s designed to teach you how to program with Python and how to use Python to automate common system administration tasks. You’ll also learn to use Git and GitHub, troubleshoot and debug complex problems, and apply automation at scale by using configuration management and the Cloud. Life skills and job readiness training are also provided during this training course.

Entry Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be eligible to work in the USA
- HS Diploma / Equivalent (HSE/GED) US ONLY
- Must attend JobTrain’s Information Session and complete registration information
- Must demonstrate proficiency in basic Math, Computer Literacy, and English written and oral communication.
- Must live in the one of the following Counties – Marin, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, San Francisco, Contra Costa, or Santa Cruz. To find employment/training services in your area click here.
- Previous Tech experience not required but recommended. In place of work experience a certification (Google IT support Professional or equivalent) completed or at least two courses relating to IT at an accredited university are required.
- Keen interest in technology as a career
- Candidates must view program information video
- Submit a resume and complete enrollment assessment questionnaire
- Interview with the program instructor and counselor

During the Program
Students must attend all classes with at least 95% attendance record. Students need to keep up with class instruction and demonstrate understanding of materials.
